More cheese Mr Roberts?

Eric Roberts Doctor Who

We’re trekking back to 1996 today when I was a young, sprightly 16 year old trying to get every girl in my class to look my way and enjoy my rapid fire witticism with poor results.

And while I watched a lot of movies both on the big and rather small one back then including classics like Lawnmower Man and Independence Day, I had no idea a Doctor Who TV movie had been released featuring two Doctors and more leather than a Gucci handbag factory. (I’ll get to that in a sec.)

But I’ve come across that 90’s snap shop of leather and aviator shades now in 2024 and having made myself comfy for my very first viewing last night, I’m wondering about Eric Roberts in the role of the master. With the question of top of the list being: what the hell?

Snowpiercer season 4 – Last stop, everyone off

snowpiercer season 4

Sigh, I suppose the show had to run out of track at some stage. I’ve just finished the forth and last season of Snowpiercer and while I enjoyed it, like the first few seasons it did leave me with some burning questions.

Yes indeed passengers, there will be some Snowpiercer spoilers on the journey ahead (if you haven’t seen the last season yet), but if you have watched it all, maybe you could shed some light on things for me?

Home brewing for the people

Everyone is their own worst critic. Which is why when tasting my latest home brewing experience, my thoughts automatically wander to how I could get this ‘domestic airline house beer’ up to ‘jet fighter dogfight pilot experience’ with the addition of hops amongst other things whilst simultaneously playing a game of ‘did the carbonation drops work with this one or not?’

But then I had some family around on the weekend who looked at the latest effort out of the home brewing production facility (the shed) with completely different eyes and quite enjoyed the experience.
Even though I almost poisoned one of them years ago when I went a little overboard brewing up a beer…

Search console – What were you looking for exactly?

As a fellow blogger once told me ‘Even when things are working, it’s still good to cast an eye under the hood from time to time.’*

And so armed with a cup of tea (I’ve had enough coffee for today) I’ve delved deep into the search console, the source, the code, the matrix, the back end, the ones and zeros and any other way you could describe the digital building blocks that make this place run and fished out some very interesting queries that managed to point searchers in this direction for whatever reason..

The crypto experiment – more used Falcon than new Ferrari

I recently uploaded a YouTube to answer a strange question I had earlier that week, namely: If I held onto to the crypto I bought seven years ago and sold it today (2024), could I buy a Ferrari? Yes could the measly $100 I spent on the digital currency back in 2017 somehow grab the mystical luck rocket and blast off to the moon, multiplying itself exponentially to the tune of a Ferrari red shopping spree? It was a monumentally ludicrous ask but I like to keep my 64 followers on YouTube amused when I can.

Then someone came along and pointed out that had I been a little more selective in the heady days of 2017 then yes, I might have a shiny red Ferrari parked in the driveway. Of my mansion. But was he correct? Let’s find out!

The Yarrawonga screw job

My dad would have turned 77 this week and in celebration I planned to raise a very special glass to his memory, like I look forward to doing on that one special day in October each year. Just myself out in the backyard, gazing up at the stars with my ears filled with some of his favourite music in remembrance for an hour or so, a glass of one of his favourite tipples in hand.

And this year instead of the customary tumbler of scotch ice and soda (J&B Rare was his go to), I picked out a very special bottle with a hugely deep connection with not only the man of the hour but also my family.

But so far in this genius idea I’ve hit a couple of snags. Firstly I’ve found out I don’t have anything in the house to open it and worse than that, I may have left this brilliant idea about ten years too late…
